Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

Randstad Staffing is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join a global company based in Clevedon. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for manufacturing special purpose machinery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Lean manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and optimise manufacturing cell layouts to meet production requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities and projects to drive process excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures and work instructions.
  • Implement and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Specify and purchase tooling and equipment to support manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure configuration control of operational documentation.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Process documentation authoring and writing of procedures and work instructions.
  • Experience in optimising production processes and providing production support.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to utilise root cause analysis tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • IT literacy and proficiency in MS Office and similar applications.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Technical knowledge including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics.
  • Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  • MRP/ERP system use - SAP.
  • DFM/PFMEA awareness.
  • Experience in implementing change and change management.
  • Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements.

This is a full-time permanent position with a salary bracket of £37,000-£45,000 depending on experience, plus a 7.5% annual bonus and other benefits.
