About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispensary Assistant to join our team at Lakeside Healthcare Group. As a key member of our dispensary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and professional provision of medication to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue repeat medication requests for the dispensary and local pharmacies on behalf of patients.
  • Action online repeat prescription requests and utilize dispensary task boxes effectively.
  • Ensure the dispensary team has prescription telephone lines covered during peak hours.
  • Answer prescription queries and issue prescriptions to patients.
  • Raise appliance prescriptions according to community nursing team requests.
  • Issue prescriptions for care homes, ensuring timely delivery and signature by the relevant GP.
  • Organize and sort appliances and paperwork for collection/delivery.
  • Transfer medication to patients at the window/counter, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collect and record prescription charges, ensuring accurate financial transactions.

Requirements
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Confident telephone manner
