Irwin Mitchell is a leading law firm committed to delivering exceptional client service. We are seeking a skilled Residential Property Assistant to join our team in [location]. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, providing high-quality support to fee-earners and contributing to the success of our conveyancing department.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing caseloads of purchase, sale, remortgage, and leasehold enfranchisement matters for freehold and leasehold properties. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing client relationships and caseloads efficiently
- Assisting fee-earners with conveyancing tasks, including file openings, conflict checks, sales packs, and protocol forms
- Drafting contract papers and completing post-completion documents
- Preparing property search reports and supporting leasehold extension matters
- Liaising with clients, banks, and other solicitors to keep them informed of progress
- Updating spreadsheets and tracking statutory dates
- Performing reprographics tasks, including photocopying, scanning, and printing
- Managing fee-earner diaries and coordinating appointments, meetings, and conference calls
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have strong IT skills, experience working with case management systems, and a proven track record of handling a caseload. You should also possess excellent customer service skills, be familiar with HMLR, SDLT, and conveyancing searches, and have experience working in an administrative or secretarial capacity.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 25 days' holiday, flexible pension schemes, and volunteering days.
