Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a detail-oriented Bill of Materials (BOM) Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.

The company specializes in the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery and metal recycling equipment, serving industries across the globe. As a BOM Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and efficient documentation of all components and assemblies necessary for the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BOM Creation & Maintenance: Develop and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for new and existing projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all parts, subassemblies, and materials.
  • Collaboration with Design & Engineering Teams: Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure BOMs reflect the most up-to-date specifications, materials, and costs.
  • Change Management: Track and implement engineering change orders (ECOs) and update BOMs as necessary to reflect design revisions, modifications, and improvements.
  • Cost Estimation & Control: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to track costs associated with BOM items and help identify cost-saving opportunities through material selection or alternative sourcing.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Maintain organized records of BOMs within the company's ERP/MRP systems, ensuring accessibility and traceability for production planning, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all materials and components listed in the BOM meet quality standards and regulatory requirements specific to the metal recycling and special purpose machinery industry.
  • Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to verify lead times, availability, and specifications of components and materials included in the BOM.

Requirements:

  • Qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in BOM management, preferably in special purpose machinery or metal processing equipment industries
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for BOM management (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Knowledge of CAD software and engineering drawing standards
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes
