About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Building Surveyor Apprentice to join our team at Workman LLP. As a Building Surveyor Apprentice, you will assist our experienced team in operating a full range of building surveying instructions on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail, and industrial.

This is a full-time on-the-job training program, where you will also be required to attend external events and forums. The program is designed to help you complete your BSc in Building Surveying and support you through your APC, with the end goal of becoming a RICS accredited chartered building surveyor.

The first 6 months of the program will require you to work from the office full-time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of Schedule of Dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, party wall awards, defect diagnosis, planned preventative maintenance reports, reinstatement cost assessments, and retail delivery.
  • Work on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail, and industrial.
  • Develop your skills in building surveying, including the use of CAD software.
  • Attend external events and forums to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or an equivalent level of attainment through recognized qualifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and relationship-building with clients.
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of your training and career development.
  • Resilience and a positive attitude.
