Senior Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our respiratory and sleep physiology department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist clinical physiology knowledge in respiratory and sleep physiology
- Ensuring best principles of care are provided to patients at Medway Maritime Hospital and two new Community Diagnostic Centres
- Undertaking and performing a range of basic to complex respiratory investigations, including lung function testing and sleep studies
- Interpreting and analysing sleep studies, and providing technical analysis and reports of results for medical staff
- Recommending patients for CPAP therapy and managing follow-up consultations
- Monitoring patients undergoing overnight polysomnography studies and ensuring recordings are of sufficient quality
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A BSc in Clinical Physiology or a relevant science subject
- ARTP part 1 and part 2 and/or A-Step
- Full and detailed knowledge of Respiratory/Sleep Physiology
- Experience performing lung function tests and diagnostic sleep tests
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- At least one year's experience as a Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist post qualification
