About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Assistant to join our team at Southwark Leisure. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers in and around the water.

As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring the pool area, responding to emergencies, and providing a high level of customer service. In addition to lifeguarding, you will also be involved in cleaning assigned areas, setting up and breaking down activities and events, and conducting pool testing according to procedures.

This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a 36-hour week across varying rotated shifts, including evenings and weekends. If you are passionate about leisure and customer service, and have a strong swimming ability, we encourage you to apply.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a UK-recognised pool lifeguard qualification (RLSS), a good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, and excellent verbal communication skills. You should also have a high standard of physical fitness, confidence, and an approachable nature.
