About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Assistant to join our team at Southwark Leisure. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers in and around the water.

Key responsibilities include lifeguarding, cleaning assigned areas, setting up and breaking down activities and events, and conducting pool testing according to procedures. You will work a 36-hour week across varying rotated shifts, which may include evenings and weekends.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must be a strong swimmer with excellent customer service skills. You should also possess:

  • A UK recognised pool lifeguard qualification (RLSS)
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to correct behaviour of pool users where necessary
  • A high standard of physical fitness
  • Confidence and an approachable nature
