About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Trade Mark Formalities Specialist to join our vibrant and busy trade mark and designs practice in London.

As a Trade Mark Formalities Specialist, you will be involved in the day-to-day administration activities of our trade mark and designs practice, supporting qualified IP lawyers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Trade Mark Filing and Renewals: Preparing and filing EU, Benelux, UK, overseas and IR trade mark and design applications, renewals and recordals.
  • International Cooperation: Dealing with local counsel in relation to filing overseas trade mark applications and renewals.
  • Deadline and Diary Management: Managing deadlines and diaries to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Correspondence and Forms: Filing correspondence and forms at the EUIPO, BOIP, WIPO and UKIPO.
  • Post and E-Communications: Checking, processing and reporting incoming post and EUIPO e-comms to the team.
  • Portfolio Management: Updating our trade mark portfolio management databases (WebTMS).
  • Client Reporting: Reporting standard prosecution to clients and liaising with clients on formalities matters.
  • Fee Estimates: Assisting with preparation of fee estimates for filing programs.

You will be working closely with our teams in London and Brussels and this role will require occasional travel to the Brussels office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years' of trade mark administration experience and be familiar with the EUIPO, UKIPO, BOIP and WIPO online registries.

You will have a good working knowledge of trade mark and design portfolio management databases.

You must be fully fluent in English. French and/or Dutch language skills are desirable.

You will understand that this work involves working to strict deadlines with no room for error.

The team is busy so you must be diligent and extremely organised.

You will also have excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
