About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team at Worcestershire Children First. As a key member of our service, you will work closely with social workers to promote the welfare of children and young people, focusing on keeping families together where safe and appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based mental health and psychological interventions to adults, primarily using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to promote emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Work in partnership with social workers to identify and address challenges and risk factors, using a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Develop and implement strength-based plans to support families, recognizing the need to work from a trauma-informed perspective.
  • Collaborate with domestic abuse survivor practitioners, domestic abuse perpetrator practitioners, and substance use recovery workers to provide comprehensive support.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and professional learning opportunities for staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in providing mental health and psychological interventions, preferably in a social care or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and its application in promoting emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including families, social workers, and other professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Knowledge of the Signs of Safety approach and its application in social care.
