Job Title: Service Manager

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Sefton to support the appointment of a Service Manager on a 3-month contract, with potential for extension. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £401.28-£500.00 per Day

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and expertise to design and deliver large-scale transformation programmes, aligning with the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP) and driving new ways of working to achieve efficiencies, productivity, and improved service delivery.
  • Lead the Children's Services Transformation and Service Development function, managing a team of project managers and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Senior Responsible Officers and operational leads to define programmes and projects, capturing benefits and constraints, and ensuring effective governance and risk management.
  • Develop and implement programme governance, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and embedding best practices across the organisation.
  • Oversee project planning, development, and monitoring, ensuring coordination between projects and alignment with budgeting processes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Programme Management or substantial relevant experience in Children's Services or Social Care.
  • Prince 2 or equivalent Project or Programme Management qualification.
  • Proven track record of successful programme or project management in a similar environment.

  • This role requires an enhanced DBS.
