Job Title: Service Manager

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Sefton to assist with the appointment of a Service Manager on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £401.28-£500.00 per day

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and expertise to design and deliver large-scale transformation and change programmes, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP).
  • Lead the Children's Services Transformation and Service Development function, managing a team of project managers and providing vision, direction, and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Senior Responsible Officers and operational leads to define programmes and individual projects, capturing benefits and constraints, including time, cost, scope, quality, resources, and risks.
  • Develop and implement programme governance, ensuring relevant governance is embedded across the organisation for programmes and projects from conception to launch and in-flight.
  • Lead project planning, development, and monitoring of activity across Children Services transformation programmes, ensuring coordination between projects and alignment with budget-setting processes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Programme Management or substantial relevant Children's Services or Social Care experience.
  • Prince 2 or equivalent Project or Programme Management qualification.
  • Experience of successful programme or project management in a similar environment.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS.
