Senior Policy Officer Opportunity

Carrington West is assisting a local authority client in the Home Counties in their search for a Senior Policy Officer to join their Town Planning department on a contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a close-knit team to help with the preparation for the local plan examination, focusing on Housing evidence figures, 5-year Housing Land Supply, employment policy, and outcomes of the NPPF.

We are looking for a qualified Town Planner with recent local authority planning experience of planning policy work, either in a local authority or private practice in the UK. A RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and/or experience in a similar position would be beneficial.

The role is offered on a hybrid working arrangement, with office presence once per week. Our client is seeking someone to start immediately, so if you are interested in the role, please don't hesitate to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation for the local plan examination
  • Focus on Housing evidence figures, 5-year Housing Land Supply, employment policy, and outcomes of the NPPF
  • Work with a close-knit team to achieve project goals
  • Collaborate with local authority clients to understand their needs and requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Town Planner with recent local authority planning experience
  • RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification
  • Experience in a similar position
