Electrical Installation Designer

Your Role
as our Electrical Installation Designer:- Design and develop electrical installations, including harness routing and packaging of electronic components for new vehicles and modifications to existing ones.
- Contribute to the design of electrical harnesses and associated components.
- Generate technical documentation to support harness manufacture, vehicle assembly, vehicle operation, and updates.
- Support the development of off-vehicle systems, internal test facilities, and rigs.
- Resolve electronic systems faults.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- Educated to degree level in an engineering subject or similar.
- Extensive experience in electrical installation design, ideally with Solidworks.
- Comprehensive understanding of Harness draftsman documents.
- Proficiency with electrical schematic design packages Zuken E3 or VeSys Electrical.
- Good understanding of electrical components, systems, and their integration.
- Ability to plan and manage your own workload.
- Clear and concise communication.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadlines.
- Strong levels of IT skills, including Google Docs.
- Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
Extra kudos:
- Familiarity with various automotive connector systems (Deutsch, Molex, TE Connectivity) would be a distinct advantage.
- Skilled in soldering surface mount technology (SMT) components and diagnosing/repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- An understanding of CAN bus architecture will be beneficial.
