Electrical Installation Specialist

Our key sectors include Water, Power, Energy, and Aggregates, supported by our regional office network and manufacturing hub in Somerset. We deliver diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.

Our projects range from £5k to £15m, taking on the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

Job Purpose

This electrical installation specialist role will involve working as part of a team of electricians on several industrial and water industry frameworks. Work will be completed across the Thames Valley region for our works with Thames Water.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project's quality plan and inspection and test plans
  • To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
  • To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
  • Promote and demonstrate the Bridges' values when dealing with peers, staff, customers, and clients
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst their peers
  • To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company's positive reputation

Requirements

  • ECS gold card (essential)
  • Experience within Industrial / construction industry, ideally within the water industry.
  • Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification
  • Fitness to work medical
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Full UK driving licence

  • EUSR & Thames Water Passport
  • Test and Inspect
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined space
  • COMPEX
