Deputy Engineering Manager Opportunity

Matchtech Mobility is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is designed to address the increasing scope and complexity of our projects, requiring a strong leader who can engage in both hands-on design work and leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the leadership of the Engineering team in various capacities, ensuring seamless project execution and team oversight.
  2. Take ownership of specific initiatives, including process enhancements and the adoption of the AS9100 standard, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
  3. Conduct 3D CAD design, from initial concept to full-scale production, ensuring the creation of precise engineering drawings and adherence to the Engineering Change Management process.
  4. Monitor and achieve project benchmarks related to time, cost, quality, and weight, demonstrating a strong focus on project delivery.
  5. Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring effective information exchange.
  6. Act in place of the Engineering Manager when necessary, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
  7. Be prepared for occasional international travel to engage with a diverse client base, showcasing adaptability and a global mindset.
Requirements:
  1. Experience with 3D CAD software, particularly Siemens SolidEdge, is highly beneficial, with a strong understanding of design principles and engineering practices.
  2. Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to production, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  3. A Mechanical Engineering degree or comparable experience, with at least 10 years of industry involvement post-graduation, showcasing a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  4. Strong communication abilities, both oral and written, with a focus on clear and concise communication.
  5. A collaborative team member with a proactive mindset, able to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  6. Capable of performing under pressure, juggling multiple tasks, and adhering to deadlines, with a strong focus on time management and prioritization.
  7. Prior experience in Aircraft Cabin Interior Engineering would be advantageous but is not mandatory, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
