About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health care support to GPs within the Tameside area.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our service and work with other Consultants to support the growth of our Living Well Team. You will be responsible for working with local and divisional service development meetings, as well as attending teaching commitments and contributing to research projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide expert advice and support to GPs on mental health matters within the Tameside area.
  • To collaborate with other Consultants to develop and improve our services, including attending service development meetings.
  • To contribute to the teaching and training of medical and nursing staff, as well as 4th medical students.
  • To participate in research projects and clinical audits to drive service improvement.
Requirements
  • You must be on the GMC's Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion, or have completed your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry within the last six months.
  • You should have excellent knowledge of specialty, clinical skills, and communication skills.
  • You must be able to meet duties under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
