Job Opportunity: Housing Officer (Temporary)
Position: Housing Officer
Contract: Temporary, ASAP - 5 Month Contract. Possibility of Extension: Yes, based on performance.
Pay Rate: £16.94 per hour (PAYE). This salary is subject to change and will be reviewed at the end of the contract period.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 17:00.
Location: LE67 4JP
Job Purpose:The primary role of a Housing Officer involves managing tenancies, addressing rent arrears, allocations, and estate management. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of these services.
Key Responsibilities:- Tenancy Management Duties: Creating and amending tenancies, enforcing tenancy agreements, providing intensive housing management and support to tenants, promoting tenant participation, and involvement in tenancy processes.
- Main Contact: Be the primary point of contact between tenants and the Council for all tenancy-related matters, including sign-up, audits, enforcement, education, involvement, and sustainment.
- Community Centre Management: Ensure the effective use of community centres and other facilities in line with relevant legislation and guidance.
- Service Requests: Record and action service requests regarding tenancy management using the Council's specific systems.
- Tenant Involvement: Support tenant involvement in housing and community activities.
- Breach of Tenancy: Investigate and resolve matters concerning breach of tenancy, making appropriate recommendations to the Senior Housing Officer.
- Reporting: Maintain and update information systems as necessary and produce reports as requested.
- Transportation: Must have own transport and not rely on public transport.
- Experience: Previous experience in a housing officer-related field is essential.
- Housing Laws: Understanding of housing laws, regulations, and policies.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using housing management software.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in housing or a related discipline are a plus.
Estimated Salary: £25,500 - £31,500 per annum (based on 37 hours/week and 52 weeks/year), depending on experience.
