About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to oversee procurement activities for housing services in a local government environment. The ideal candidate will possess detailed knowledge of public service procurement, as well as a proven ability to advise on all aspects of the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  1. Advise senior managers on the procurement process in line with the council's Contract Procedure Rules and Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
  2. Achieve value for money and cashable savings from procurement activity.
  3. Build and maintain successful internal and external partnerships and relationships.
  4. Identify opportunities in procurement for innovation.
  5. Produce reports and analyse data for senior managers when required.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience managing procurement for housing services in local government.
  2. MCIPS qualified.
  3. Strong knowledge of procurement cycles, contract law, best practices, and relevant legislation.
  4. Expertise in advising on procurement processes from options appraisal to contract management.
  5. Exceptional communication, analytical, and advanced Excel skills.
  6. Successful in building partnerships and fostering productive working relationships.
  7. Skilled at translating policy and strategy into actionable outcomes.
