We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Efficiency Specialist to join our team at ABM UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of our energy efficiency programme and management system, aligned with the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems Standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement energy efficiency strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs across our operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and European legislation, including the UK Emissions Trading Scheme, Climate Change Agreements, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.
- Deliver energy awareness workshops to our teams and attend monthly Environmental Working Groups to review energy performance.
- Provide regular energy and water reports, including monthly consumption and spend versus budget, identification of energy efficiency projects, and compliance updates.
- Operate, maintain, and develop our Metering and Billing Systems (M&T and BMS) and eSight and Trend platforms.
- Manage data to ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet corporate and legal requirements.
- Chair fortnightly operational and monthly strategic energy management meetings and prepare supporting materials.
- Develop and maintain a Register of Opportunities to identify and review energy projects.
- Submit variations to compliance-related permits and agreements and engage with local environmental agencies and utility regulators.
- Support energy procurement and management of energy suppliers, including quarterly review meetings.
- Attend seminars and consultation workshops on behalf of the company.
- Manage energy and water budgets, including PO raising, bill validation, and invoice management.
- Develop and maintain energy standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all activities.

Requirements
- 5 years of post-qualification engineering experience across different industrial sectors operating within a regulated environment.
- Health and safety qualified to NEBOSH level.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Confident decision-making under pressure, flexible, reliable, responsible, calm in a crisis, and positive attitude to private outsourcing.
