About the Role

NHS Grampian is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Consultant in Public Health Medicine to lead our Pregnancy and Newborn Screening programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to deliver our 5 Year Health Equity Plan.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about addressing health inequalities and driving sustained health improvements. Your expertise in public health medicine and experience in programme leadership will be essential in achieving our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Pregnancy and Newborn Screening programme
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to address health inequalities and improve population health
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including Local Authorities, Environmental Health, and Health and Social Care, to deliver our 5 Year Health Equity Plan
  • Lead a team of public health professionals to achieve programme objectives
Requirements

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. Candidates who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register may be considered for a Locum Consultant post.

You will be employed on either NHS (Scotland) Hospital Medical and Dental Staff and Doctors in Public Health and the Community Health Service terms and conditions or NHS (Scotland) Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, depending on your background and professional registration status.
