Job Title: Principal Network Compliance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Compliance Officer to join our team at Essential Employment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with various regulations and laws related to street works and highway safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deputise for the Network Team Leader to ensure service continuity and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Provide expert guidance on the New Roads and Street Works Act, Highways Act, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Oversee daily inspections and enforcement for street works and highway safety, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and associated codes, including the London Permit Scheme.
  • Enforce the Highways Act 1980 using various legal documents and notices, maintaining a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Represent the Client at public inquiries, meetings, and provide technical reports, effectively communicating complex information to stakeholders.
  • Prepare legal reports and evidence, and assist lawyers in legal proceedings, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information.
  • Issue notices regarding highway activities, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Conduct inspections of statutory undertakers' and highway authority's works for compliance with safety codes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
