### Job Title: Principal Network Compliance Officer

### Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Network Compliance Officer to join our dynamic Network Management team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining road networks to the highest standards.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Lead daily inspection and enforcement regimes under relevant legislation, including the New Roads and Street Works Act and the Highways Act.
* Enforce relevant legislation, issuing formal notices and coordinating with partner agencies.
* Supervise statutory undertakers' works to ensure compliance with Council policies and the delivery of the Council's Network Management Duty.
* Oversee highway safety inspections, ensuring that any identified issues are addressed in line with required standards.
* Represent the Council in public meetings, inquiries, and legal proceedings, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance.
* Prepare reports and statements of evidence for legal cases and present findings in court when necessary.
* Collaborate with other sections, departments, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant street works and highways management.

### Requirements:

* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the Highways Act 1980.
* Experience in highway enforcement, inspections, and compliance, as well as a proven track record of working in partnership with various stakeholders.
* Expertise in the New Roads and Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act.
* Strong knowledge of the London Permit Scheme and highways safety codes of practice.
* Proven ability to carry out effective inspection regimes and enforcement actions.
* Experience with managing legal cases, including evidence preparation and court presentations.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders.
* Strong IT skills with proficiency in word processing, presentation software, and database management.

### Qualifications:

* Relevant Street Works Supervisor qualification or significant relevant experience.
* Full, clean driving licence.
