About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in South Yorkshire. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to children aged 5-18 with emotional trauma and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Collaborate with other professionals to create and review individual care plans, ensuring each child's needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Establish Effective Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with children, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe and secure living environment for all children.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete paperwork, including incident reports, medication administration records, logbooks, and handover sheets, as required by the individual home.
  • Organize Activities: Plan and participate in recreational and educational activities that promote social skills, personal growth, and community involvement.
  • Emotional Support: Provide guidance and support to children in managing their emotions and behaviors.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a care setting with children in the UK.
  • DBS Check: A valid DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Right to Work: The right to work in the UK.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engagement: A willingness to engage with residents and build positive relationships.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in childcare or social care, such as an NVQ Level 3.
