About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Specialist to join our team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will work with young people who are at risk of offending, experiencing poor life chances, or involved in the criminal justice system. Our team focuses on creating positive outcomes by providing a range of services to support young people's empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and work with young people in various settings to reduce the risk of offending and harm to others.
  • Develop and deliver individual and group programmes to support young people's personal and social development.
  • Ensure that the views and needs of young people are central to the services provided.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work with young people using electronic recording systems.
  • Collaborate with statutory and voluntary partners to offer positive opportunities for young people.
  • Advocate for young people in multiple settings, representing their interests and needs.
  • Support families to address areas of concern and help integrate them into mainstream services.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Graduate or similar level qualification in an area related to working with young people or offenders.
  • Experience:
    • Experience working with young people and their families.
    • Experience in case management and delivering group/individual programmes.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Understanding of safeguarding and risk management for young people.
    • Knowledge and experience of applying Liverpool City Council's Child Protection procedures.
    • Strong communication, listening, and assessment skills.
    • Ability to engage with young people, including those displaying challenging behaviour.
