Job Role: Learning Mentor

We are currently working with an alternative provision school that believes in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and creatively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assist students as needed in their daily routines across classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Initiate and follow through with behavioural interventions as designated and demonstrated by the classroom teacher.
  • Support the learning and wellbeing of pupils throughout the school.
  • Work alongside and advise learning support assistants.
Requirements:
  • Some existing knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or autism support is desirable but not essential.
  • A degree of flexibility and adaptability.
