SACT Trained Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and treatment to patients receiving SACT, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe and effective nursing care and treatment to patients receiving SACT, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Administer medications, including intravenous medications, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Conduct venepuncture and cannulation procedures as required.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding SACT and other treatments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Experience in haematology/oncology nursing, preferably in a SACT setting.
- Competency in the administration of intravenous medications, blood products, and other treatments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
