Senior Consents & Environment Manager

About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Consents & Environment Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Consents and Environment team, you'll be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of Consents and Environment Managers to deliver clusters of projects. You'll also lead on specific, high-profile, and complex projects, bringing your expertise and experience in consenting and delivery to the table.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Consents and Environment Managers to deliver clusters of projects.
  • Lead on specific, high-profile, and complex projects, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate and monitor Contractor and SSEN environmental and consenting compliance, meeting all statutory and internal obligations.
  • Scope, tender, award, and manage multiple consultancy contracts to support the delivery of EnvCoW support services and post-planning submission surveys and assessments.
  • Develop and build critical external stakeholder relationships, communicating the criticality of infrastructure and project requirements.
Requirements

We're looking for someone with demonstrable experience in managing, developing, mentoring, and training a team of environmental professionals. You'll also need project management experience and an understanding of how to manage all aspects of the delivery of major projects. An Environmental-related degree, preferably with a postgraduate qualification, is desirable, as is membership of an appropriate environmental professional body.
