Senior Consents & Environment Manager

Join our team of experts at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks as we seek a highly motivated and experienced Senior Consents & Environment Manager to lead our consenting and delivery efforts on major infrastructure projects in Scotland.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a genuine passion for delivering iconic national infrastructure projects. As a Senior Consents & Environment Manager, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of Consents and Environment Managers to help deliver clusters of projects. You will also bring your expertise in consenting and delivery to lead on specific, high-profile and complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Consents and Environment Managers to deliver projects
  • Lead on Consents condition discharge, environmental licensing, and preparation of environmental contract specifications
  • Coordinate and monitor Contractor and SSEN environmental and consenting compliance
  • Scope, tender, award, and manage multiple consultancy contracts to support delivery of EnvCoW support services
  • Develop and build critical external stakeholder relationships with consenting bodies, statutory authorities, and key consultees
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing, developing, mentoring, and training a team of environmental professionals
  • Project management experience and understanding of how to manage all aspects of delivery of major projects
  • An Environmental related degree, preferably with postgraduate qualification, and experience in a relevant industry
  • Membership of an appropriate environmental professional body
