About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Consents & Environmental Manager to join our team at SSEN Transmission. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of Consents and Environment Managers to deliver clusters of projects.

As a Senior Consents & Environmental Manager, you will bring your expertise in consenting and delivery to lead on specific, high-profile and complex projects. You will work under a Lead Consents & Environment Manager and be responsible for coordinating and monitoring Contractor and SSEN environmental and consenting compliance.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in managing, developing, mentoring, and training a team of environmental professionals. You will also have project management experience and an understanding of how to manage all aspects of the delivery of major projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Manage, develop, mentor, and train a small team of Consents and Environment Managers.
  2. Lead on Consents condition discharge, environmental licensing, and the preparation of environmental contract specifications.
  3. Coordinate and monitor Contractor and SSEN environmental and consenting compliance.
  4. Scope, tender, award, and manage multiple consultancy contracts to support the delivery of EnvCoW support services.
  5. Develop, control, and build critical external stakeholder relationships.
