Reporting to the Director – Financing Reporting, the Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centralized Accounts Payable department. The incumbent assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human and material resources for the department.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective financial management strategies to ensure efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processes and systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and maintain accurate records and reports.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in Accounting.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, with particular competency in the creation and modification of excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software an asset.
  • Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience.
  • Previous Accounts Payable experience an asset.
  • Previous project work experiences an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills both in oral and written format.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and direct activities.
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to promote positive change.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.

  • Good work and attendance record.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
