Accounts Payable Manager

As a key member of the Southern Health-Santé Sud team, the Accounts Payable Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the centralized Accounts Payable department. Reporting to the Director – Financing Reporting, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day activities of the department. The incumbent assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human, and material resources for the department.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable department.
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate payment processing.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in Accounting.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, with particular competency in the creation and modification of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software an asset.
  • Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience.
  • Previous Accounts Payable experience an asset.
  • Previous project work experiences an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills both in oral and written format.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and direct activities.
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to promote positive change.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
