As a key member of the Southern Health-Santé Sud team, the Accounts Payable Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the centralized Accounts Payable department. Reporting to the Director – Financing Reporting, this individual is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day activities of the department, with a focus on delivering high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human, and material resources.

The successful candidate will exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and actions to be taken on unusual matters. This position functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud, and adheres to the organization's policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Payable staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of financial activities.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, making recommendations for process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in Accounting.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with particular competency in Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software is an asset.
  • Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience.
  • Previous Accounts Payable experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to promote positive change and respect confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
