Role Overview

At Ackerman Pierce Ltd, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with complex needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students between KS1-KS5 with special educational and complex needs, including those with autism, ADHD, SPD, speech and language difficulties, and mental and emotional challenges.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience, and all DBS costs are covered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and preparing learning materials, delivering lessons and activities that meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • An adaptable, patient, and caring approach to working with students with SEN and complex needs such as autism and ADHD, SPD, and other associated conditions.
  • A child-centred approach.
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
  • Available during school hours and for 3 - 30 hours contracts per week.
Requirements
  • Background in teaching in the core subjects English, Maths, Science, or SEND classes.
  • To be considered as a Tutor/TA, you must have experience working with a variety of students, ideally including those with SEND and SEMH, and have a background in teaching or private tutoring.
