Commercial Account Handler

Gallagher, a leading global insurance brokerage, is seeking a Commercial Account Handler to join their established team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Retail Broking Division, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to clients, acquiring optimal retention numbers, and identifying opportunities to provide additional products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on their risk and insurance requirements, both directly and in supporting Account Executives
- Negotiate with insurers and obtain the best possible terms for clients, using knowledge of the market and the products best suited to their needs
- Prepare reports from meeting minutes and ensure cover is bound by renewal date
- Create documents for new clients, including mid-term adjustments and renewals information
- Deal with insurer and client queries about policies, confirm cover with relevant insurers, and process policies
- Deal with account queries and credit control matters, highlighting any concerns to Account Managers
- Apply fundamental legal and regulatory policies in relation to internal policies and the insurance contract as required
About You
We're looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in the insurance industry is essential, as is having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved Service Level Agreements. A Chartered Insurance Institute qualification or equivalent is also desirable.
