Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Cancer Nursing Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is £32,300 - £43,041 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including access to the NHS Pension Scheme and 27 days' holiday rising to 33 days with service.

Job Description

This fixed-term position, lasting 1 year, requires a Registered Nurse who can work autonomously within their scope of practice and support the team to deliver safe and effective care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a main point of contact for patients, carers, and the wider healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care through proactive identification of needs requiring clinical knowledge.
  • Collaborating and communicating with the wider healthcare team to ensure the provision of appropriate services to maximize the health and quality of life of patients.
  • Managing and prioritizing the running of the service in the absence of the Band 7 team leader and working flexibly to the needs of the service.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience at Band 5 or equivalent within a specialty.
  • Understanding of the local and national nursing agenda.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Registered Nurse (level 1) qualification.
