Senior Mental Health Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Specialist Nurse to join our Mental Health Services for Older People North East Community Mental Health Team based in York.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a supportive team who regularly engage in wellbeing and team building activities, both in and out of the work environment.
About the RoleThe successful post holder will provide specialist advice, guidance, training, therapeutic support, and consultation as part of the multidisciplinary community mental health team.
They will work collaboratively with service users, their families, and carers to promote clear communication and improved access to specialist advice, knowledge, and skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on professional development and ensure the delivery of robust evidence-based practice within the team.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, training, therapeutic support, and consultation as part of the multidisciplinary community mental health team.
- Contribute to increasing community awareness of the presentation and prevalence of eating disorders in local populations.
- Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD.
- Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving.
- Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
- Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP (Independent Prescriber).
- Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in a relevant clinical area with significant experience, together with evidence of relevant CPD.
The salary for this role is approximately £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including a comprehensive pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for career development and progression.
