About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Chemical Pathologist to join our team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Biochemistry department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients and contributing to the development of our laboratory services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemical pathology, with expertise in lipidology and a passion for delivering excellent patient care. You will work closely with our team of clinical scientists and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality diagnostic services to patients, including lipidology and other chemical pathology tests
  • Contribute to the development of our laboratory services, including the expansion of our lipid clinics and the implementation of new diagnostic tests and technologies
  • Work closely with our team of clinical scientists and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests and services
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and policies
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent qualification
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Experience in chemical pathology, with expertise in lipidology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
