Chemical Pathologist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Chemical Pathologist to join our team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
About the RoleThe appointee will be based at either Eastbourne District General Hospital (EDGH) or Conquest Hospital, with the option to travel between sites as needed for laboratory services and to run lipid clinics on both sites. The successful candidate may also be required to undertake duties elsewhere in the East Sussex healthcare community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical and laboratory services in Chemical Pathology, including lipid clinics
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement local services
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance and appraisal initiatives
- Participate in staff management and leadership within the laboratory
- Engage in audit, research, and publication activities relevant to the specialty
- Develop and deliver educational programs for junior medical staff, nursing staff, and other professional groups
- MB BS or equivalent qualification
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent
- Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for registration within 6 months of interview
- MD/ MSc/ PhD or equivalent qualification
- BSE accreditation
