Independent Reviewing Officer Role

At Hatched Recruitment Group, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer to join our team. As a member of our Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service, you will be responsible for holding a diverse caseload of children looked after and child protection cases. Your key responsibilities will include chairing meetings, ensuring effective decisions are made, and monitoring those decisions in line with Working Together and the Care Placement, Placement and Review Regulations. You will also contribute to auditing activity across the service, providing constructive challenge where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Possess excellent chairing skills to confidently manage difficult meetings.
  2. Have a keen eye for scrutiny, auditing, attention to detail, and good report writing skills.
  3. Ensure effective decisions are made for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan.
  4. Contribute to auditing activity across the service.
Requirements:
The successful applicant will need extensive knowledge of London Child Protection Procedures, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010, and the IRO handbook.
