Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Asset Strategy and Compliance to lead our Strategic Asset Management Team. This role will involve overseeing complex lease obligations, asset projects, and compliance with statutory regulations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dynamic team in managing non-freehold assets, including liaison with third-party freeholders, managing agents, and contractors. They will also oversee statutory obligations, such as resident home improvement requests, Section 20 reviews, and disrepair intervention.

This role requires a deep understanding of relevant legislation and sector regulations, particularly lease agreements and landlord obligations. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, financial literacy, and experience in managing budgets and delivering cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategy: Oversee the Lease and Asset Projects Team, providing strategic leadership and ensuring professional development.
  • Non-Freehold Portfolio Oversight: Take full ownership of our non-freehold assets, liaising with third-party freeholders, managing agents, and contractors to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Statutory Compliance: Manage statutory obligations, including resident home improvement requests, Section 20 reviews, and disrepair intervention.
  • Latent Defect: Oversee the investigation of latent defects, engaging with legal and technical consultants to resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements:
  • A degree-level qualification in property or asset management (or equivalent experience) and substantial experience in asset compliance, lease management, and complex asset issues.
  • A deep understanding of relevant legislation and sector regulations, with a focus on lease agreements and landlord obligations.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing high-performing asset teams.

Salary and Benefits:
