Job Overview

As a senior building control technician at LABC (Local Authority Building Control), you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards. About the Role

This role involves providing technical support to the team manager and building control officers, including registering and validating applications relevant to Building Control Services. You will also offer frontline support to external customers and their agents regarding building regulation applications, initial notices, and demolition notices. In addition, you will raise invoices for building control charges and respond to general customer queries by phone or email.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical assistance to the team manager and building control officers.
  • Supporting external customers with building regulation applications and notices.
  • Raising invoices for building control services and responding to customer queries.
Requirements
  1. A good understanding of building control legislation.
  2. Technical aptitude, including examining, interpreting, and measuring architectural drawings and calculating floor areas.
  3. Excellent numeracy skills and experience with invoicing processes.
  4. Proficiency in software for document processing and management systems, with prior GIS system experience beneficial.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  6. Secondary school education or equivalent, demonstrating high literacy and numeracy standards.
  7. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  8. The ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and demonstrate good time management.
  9. Previous experience working in a challenging customer-facing environment.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
