Credit Controller Specialist

About the Role: A Credit Controller is required to join our client's team in Chelmsford, working on a full-time 6-9 month FTC basis. This hybrid position offers an attractive salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. Working two days in the office and three from home after a successful induction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chase outstanding monies
- Generate weekly and monthly reports of aged debt
- Attend weekly meetings with the Credit Control team to maintain focus and drive results
- Take ownership of the debtor's ledger
- Ensure compliance with on-hold accounts, prevention, and credit exceed procedures
- Resolve day-to-day credit control issues and problem accounts
- Manage the credit control inbox
- Handle multi-currency accounts, run separate reports, and forecast incoming currency cash receipts
- Stay up-to-date with ledger issues
- Credit check new customers, set limits, and terms according to approval processes
- Send out legal letters consistently throughout the team
- Regularly review and propose customer trading trends, creating proposals for increasing credit limits and terms
- Collaborate with the Purchase ledger regarding contras
- Provide anticipated receipts analysis to support cash flow planning
- Responsible for documenting processes within the department/credit control area
- Data cleansing to aid system changes
Requirements:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Accountancy AAT qualified desirable
- Hybrid working (after induction) – 2 days in-office and 3 days remote
- 20 days holiday rising to 25 with service
