Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Regional Governance Expert to join our team in the South West and West Midlands regions. In this role, you will be responsible for developing partnerships across these areas and growing membership for our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand local and regional challenges and needs of governing boards, clerks, and governance professionals, applying this intelligence to offer appropriate support to members in local areas and regions.
  • Encourage and support local governance associations to form and sustain themselves.
  • Build relationships with local partners to gather intelligence on the local governance landscape and the needs of governing boards, clerks, and governance professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to develop partnerships to improve governance with local authorities, multi-academy trusts, local associations, teaching school alliances/hubs, dioceses, federations, and other parties.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact in the South West and West Midlands regions. As a Regional Governance Expert, you will have the chance to work with a range of stakeholders, including governing boards, clerks, and governance professionals, to identify and address their needs.

You will be working in a dynamic environment, where no two days are the same. You will be expected to think creatively, develop innovative solutions, and build strong relationships with our members and partners.

Requirements
  • A thorough understanding of school and trust governance in England.
  • An understanding of relevant regional and local public sector services and structures, particularly as relevant to education.
  • An understanding of marketing and promotion strategies.
  • The ability to identify, exploit, and create opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations to large audiences.
  • The ability to keep up-to-date with external factors and assess the potential and added value of new relationships.

Estimated Salary: £32,480 - £36,400 per annum (FTE: £40,600 - £45,500)
