Job Title: Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator

The Manchester College is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator. This is a fixed-term position until March 2025, working full-time (35 hours per week).

About the Role:

This role is part of the Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation programme (GMFEIP), funded by Innovate UK. The primary objective of the Innovation Literacy Co-ordinator is to equip apprentices with the knowledge and confidence to support innovative practice within their businesses and empower them to become 'Apprentice Innovation Ambassadors'.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Communicate the value and significance of the Innovation Literacy training to apprentices, employers, and apprenticeship delivery colleagues through various channels.
  • Develop marketing materials and strategies to promote the program within the college and to external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of the Innovation Literacy training program.
  • Organise workshops, seminars, and other training sessions related to innovation literacy for apprentices.
  • Collaborate with other AIACs across the GM Boroughs and working to/reporting on the objectives of the GMFE Innovation Programme and its funders.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Innovation Literacy training curriculum, ensuring alignment with program objectives and standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to apprentices participating in the training program.
  • Monitor the progress of apprentices enrolled in the Innovation Literacy training program against the objectives of the GMFEIP.
  • Prepare reports on performance and impact to the host College and the GMFEIP and funder as required.
  • Evaluate the impact of the training on apprentices' skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
  • Collect feedback from apprentices, employers, and other stakeholders to continuously improve the training program.
  • Recognise and celebrate the achievements and successes of apprentices completing the Innovation Literacy training program.
  • Organise events or initiatives to showcase the impact of the program on apprentices and SMEs.
Requirements:
  • Level 4 or relevant experience.
  • Maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel in the borough on a regular basis and across GM on occasional basis.
  • Experience in coordinating training programs or educational initiatives, preferably within the apprenticeship sector.
  • Experience of working with businesses to identify opportunities for training, growth, and increased productivity through innovation.
  • Experience of working with apprentices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market trends effectively.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities, with a knack for inspiring creativity and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies relevant to education, training, and business innovation.
  • A passion for driving positive change and fostering a culture of innovation within the business community.
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders from a range of sectors.
  • Evidence of CPD relevant to the role and continued commitment to personal CPD.
  • Ability to multitask and track projects performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skill.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and engagement strategies.
  • Networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
