Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Age UK. As a key member of our retail operations, you will play a vital role in supporting our Store Managers in all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in leading a team of Sales Assistants and volunteers to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Assist in the management of stock, including receiving, storing, and rotating merchandise to ensure maximum visibility and sales.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of visual merchandising displays and store layouts to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and execute sales plans, promotions, and events to drive revenue growth and customer loyalty.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of Sales Assistants and volunteers to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and secure store environment, adhering to Age UK's health and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, with a strong track record of delivering sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Store Manager and other team members to achieve business objectives.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
