Job Summary

The Programme Manager will be responsible for executing business cases and contracts in line with requirements and agreed-upon programme scope. This role will support the Programme Director and Defence Business Line, providing updates on programme activities, including monthly programme reviews, ETCs, strategy plans, customer concerns, and weekly status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of programmes, including changes, in compliance with business case and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor programme performance, manage off-track items, and report progress through Practical Problem Solving methods.
  • Create Programme Execution and Programme Improvement Plans, including cost improvements, pricing initiatives, and Zero Defects Manufacturing.
  • Provide input for make, move, and buy decisions and act as a strategic partner in procurement decisions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and manage escalation priorities.
  • Support the Programme Director/VP in defining the vision, strategy, and budget for programmes to optimise cash flow, operating income, profits, and growth.
  • Support Engineering Change Control Board activities.
  • Adhere to programme management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Programme Management framework.
  • Manage Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management for control and risk mitigation exposure.
  • Support the Programme Director in the proposal process.
  • Responsible for planning and performance of Life Cycle Gates, including preceding Reviews.
  • Responsible for updating Sales/Demand Planning and initiating demand management for serial purchase orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a technical-related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in programme management.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Aerospace/Defence Industries.
  • Understanding of performing work subject to ITAR regulations and programme requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional Programme Management Certification (PMP) or ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR/EAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
