Surgical First Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operating Department Practitioner to join our team as a Surgical First Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing surgical first assistance for Consultant led surgeries that vary in complexity and specialism with a focus on major Orthopaedics and General Surgery.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in theatre nursing or operating department practice and be able to demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Surgical First Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing surgical first assistance for Consultant led surgeries that vary in complexity and specialism with a focus on major Orthopaedics and General Surgery.
  • Providing exemplary planned care for patients and assisting in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.

This is a key role within our team and requires a Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner with at least 2 years' experience in a scrub capacity. You will also need experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision, as well as competence across a range of skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration/practitioner qualification. An SFA qualification would be highly desirable.
