**About the Role:**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Assistant to join our mainstream primary school in Bridport, Dorset.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a mainstream primary school setting, and a strong interest in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the application of person-centered approaches.

The successful applicant will work 1-1 with ASD pupils, addressing their individual learning needs and helping them to achieve their full potential. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support, collaborating with the class teacher to manage a classroom of 30 pupils, and supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery, and assessment.

In addition, the successful candidate will assist with the integration of speech and language therapy techniques in collaboration with our in-house specialist, to enhance pupils' communication skills, participate in school-wide activities and events, and engage in continuous professional development to improve skills and effectiveness as a Teaching Assistant.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a mainstream primary school setting.
  • Experience or strong interest in working with children with ASD and the application of person-centered approaches.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pupils, staff, and parents.

Salary:** £85-£95 per day.
