Cardiac Surgical Care Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Surgical Care Practitioner to join our team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our cardiac surgical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeons in operative procedures and provide skilled and consistent assistance in all aspects of elective and emergency adult cardiac and thoracic surgery.
- Develop and maintain expertise in conventional and endoscopic conduit harvesting, including harvesting of the long Saphenous vein, short Saphenous vein, and Radial artery.
- Participate in the development of Trust policies and procedures relating to cardiac surgical care and contribute to the investigation of complaints, accident reports, and untoward incidents.
- Network with multi-professional colleagues within and outside the Trust to promote a cohesive team and achieve team objectives.
- Contribute to the development of guidelines, protocols, and projects relating to specialist areas and maintain data quality standards for ICHIS.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate education programs for trainee Surgical Care Practitioners and facilitate Junior Doctors training.
- Masters Degree or working towards postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Surgical Care Practitioner Diploma and RGN / C& G 752 / ODP Level III or equivalent medical experience.
- ILS (or ability to achieve within an agreed time frame).
- Relevant theatre / critical care experience and teaching qualification desirable.
